Q: Windows is currently managing my wireless connection, How do I return control to Intel's PROSet utility?
A: To reclaim the Wireless for the Intel PROSet Utility (Centrino Wireless):
  • Double click the PROSet Icon in the system tray (looks like a white clam shell).
  • Under "Related Tasks" on the left side of the Wireless Network Connection window choose "Change Advanced Settings".
  • In the Wireless Network Connections Properties window select the "Wireless Networks" tab.
  • Uncheck the box which says "Use Windows to configure my wireless network settings".
  • Click "OK".

The Intel PROSet Icon should now change to a different color (red or yellow). You can now double-click the icon and choose your wireless network.

This is a one time process that will only have to be repeated if you reload the system or if you run sysprep again.
