Problem:  64-bit Windows Vista shows an unknown device in Device Manager on first boot of pre-built installation.

 

Solution:

During the Windows Sysprep process the modem driver gets uninitialized on certain installations. To correct this unknown device error please re-install the modem driver from your "C:\Drivers folder" and the problem will not reoccur.
