1)
Go to Intel's download center and download the latest version of the
Intel Matrix Storage Manager for your OS:
http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Prod...=2101&lang=eng
Keep this file as you will need it again in step 7.
2) Run the installer with the
-a
switch to extract the files. This will NOT install the software, just
extract the files. Follow the prompts as if you were installing the
software.

The
above should extract the files to
\Program Files\Intel\Intel Matrix Storage Manager.
There are two folders,
\Drivers and \Drivers64
for 32-bit and 64-bit OS's, respectively.
Copy the file
“IaStor.sys”
from the Drivers folder to
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\
3) Download
"ahci_xp_drv_patch.zip"
and extra the
zip patch file to the desktop, open the extra folder
and double click
" ahci_xp_drv_patch.reg"
to add the entry into registry
Important Note: This AHCI
registry patch was modified to work with ASI BTO notebook: ASUS and
Compal Santa Rosa platform only. ASI is not liable and does not
support non-ASI BTO notebook using this patch.
4)
Reboot the computer and enter the BIOS (F2 during initial boot) -
DO
NOT
allow it to start Windows yet.
5)
Change the setting to AHCI as follow:
1. Navigate to the "Advanced" and choose "Onboard Devices
Configuration"
2.
Change Configure
SATA as "AHCI"
3.
Press F10 and Save
and Exit the BIOS.
6) Boot
into Windows

When Windows loads it will detect a new hard disk - cancel the
wizard for installing the new hardware and
run the
Intel Matrix Storage Manager driver installer you downloaded in step 1. |
